Today's Evinrude motors compare favorably with competitors with a simpler and more reliable operating principle. The number of components in the injection system is almost half that of other brands of systems. Thanks to the new technology, the E-TEC series motors run very quietly and consume significantly less fuel than conventional 2-stroke motors. Their sound timbre is soft, and vibration is not noticeable throughout the entire rev range. At the same time, they weigh lighter, and are much faster on overclocking. Unlike other motors, the Evinrude enables the engine to start regardless of the battery condition - since the motor electronics do not require battery power.

Evinrude E-TEC outboard motors do not require any preventive maintenance for the first three years or 300 hours of normal operation. Even gear oil. You never have to change your engine oil or oil filter. The Evinrude E-TEC engine uses 50% less oil than conventional direct injection engines and 75% less oil than 2-stroke.
